Matthew Howat

 

Matthew is an Assistant Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation department of the London office having joined the firm in August 2007 from a large practice in West London.

Matthew  has a wide range of experience in a number of areas of law ranging from contract and commercial disputes to property litigation, employment and insolvency disputes.

Matthew acts for clients in the receivables finance and financial services industries as well as a number of private clients on all aspects of commercial debt recovery and dispute resolution.

Matthew has detailed experience in all aspects of High Court and County Court litigation, including commercial and private debt recovery and dispute resolution, personal and corporate insolvency, guarantees and indemnity claims, corporate fraud, mediation and alternative dispute resolution. 

Matthew studied Law and French Law at both Kingston and Lyon III Universities and subsequently completed his Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. Matthew is married and lives with his wife in South West London where he enjoys tennis, gym and weekends away with family and friends, whenever the opportunity arises.
