Recent experience includes:
- Successfully defending a claim involving an alleged shadow director. Following the drafting of detailed witness statements, the Insolvency Service agreed to discontinue legal proceedings and paid his client’s legal costs in full.
- Successfully acting for 7 directors of a Group of companies in circumstances where the Crown debt totalled over £1.7m as at the date of liquidation. Following detailed submissions to the Insolvency Service, the threatened proceedings were dropped in their entirety at the pre issue stage, enabling the individuals concerned to carry on with their existing business interests without the threat of disqualification.
- Acting for an individual who had conducted the proceedings himself until a week before trial was due to start. Despite the late instruction, Andy managed to lower the period of undertaking on offer by 3 years and avoided the client the costs of the trial process.
