Why the client needed our help

The law firm had been served with a winding up petition by a former partner who said that he was owed unpaid profits from the law firm.

How we helped

It was clear that the former partner was trying to play hard ball by taking an aggressive approach to recover what he said was owed. The debt was disputed by our client and we had to react very quickly.

We obtained an undertaking from the former partner not to advertise the petition and then produced detailed witness statement evidence in support of an application to get the winding up petition dismissed from court.

The outcome / significance to the client

We successfully got the winding up petition dismissed and the law firm was able to continue trading successfully without the threat of being wound up.

The result was that our client could continue his personal and business life free from the threats made by the law firm.

I was greatly impressed with FWJ. Their commercial approach combined with specialist knowledge and tactical expertise was pivotal in the claim being dropped and costs recovered in full
