Why the client needed our help
A UK freezing injunction had been issued against our client, a football player who lived overseas and was, at the time, trying to sell his UK property. The issuer claimed that they were entitled to a large cash payment which would have covered the value of the property and that our client was selling it in order to take cash overseas – i.e. dissipating his assets.
How we helped
We set about having the freezing injunction removed by gathering evidence that our client was not dissipating his assets and that the underlying claim was in fact flawed, if not wrong.
The outcome
We successfully had the freezing injunction discharged by the court with costs awarded in our client’s favour. Our client was also able to keep his house.
