Why our client needed our help

A family owned roofing company had carried out works for an individual renovating a property however the client’s customer failed to make payment of the client’s invoice, despite various promises of payment.

How we helped

We recognised that the individual was a director of a financial company and would therefore look to avoid bankruptcy. However, we were unable to locate assets in the debtor’s name and she had failed to make payment despite various promises.

A statutory demand was served on the individual who failed to respond. As a result a Bankruptcy Petition was filed against the individual.

The outcome

Following service of the Bankruptcy Petition the debtor sought to refinance and was able to make payment of the full sums being sought, plus full legal costs, prior to the hearing of the Petition with the Petition ultimately being dismissed as a result.
