Why the client needed our help

Our client, the sole owner of a residential property, was facing a council tax liability of in excess of £25,000. The local authority had presented a bankruptcy petition against him seeking payment of the council tax arrears. The property in question was actually vacant at the time and undergoing refurbishment. Our client wanted to sell it to pay the council tax bill in full.

How we helped

We assisted the client with successfully obtaining a validation order and an adjournment of the hearing for the bankruptcy petition.

The outcome

As a result, our client was able to sell his property, pay the council tax owed and have the bankruptcy petition dismissed.

Extremely thorough, professional and speedy, and the fees were much more reasonable than the competition. Highly recommended.
