Why the client needed our help

Our client, a private individual, was facing the very real prospect of a bankruptcy petition being presented against him following the issue of two statutory demands for debts it was claimed he owed but which he partly disputed.

How we helped

We immediately and successfully applied for both statutory demands to be set aside and sought to agree a settlement of the dispute with the other side before any further action could be taken against our client – although the setting aside of the statutory demands meant that a bankruptcy petition could no longer be presented, they could still attempt to sue him.

The outcome

Knowing that we would fully defend our client, the opposing side agreed to a settlement which meant that he only had to repay some of the debts, avoided the risk and cost of further court proceedings and was able to put the whole affair behind him.

Extremely thorough, professional and speedy, and the fees were much more reasonable than the competition. Highly recommended.
