Why the client needed our help

Our clients, two family members, had been issued with a series of accelerated payment notices worth £1.2 million in relation to a stamp duty mitigation scheme which they believed to be too high.

How we helped

We set about challenging the assessment by analysing the underlying documents and unravelling the calculations. We then put our case to HMRC showing the right amount of tax due and pushing for an early settlement.

The outcome

We had the accelerated payment notices reduced to £375,000, saving our clients a huge amount of money. We also saved them from incurring further legal costs and stress by settling the matter early.

FWJ did precisely what it set out to do. I am extremely grateful for its assistance.

A client who had received a Request for Security from HMRC for a sum that would have caused their company severe financial difficulties. We helped them to have the entire bill withdraw
