This past weekend colleagues from Francis Wilks & Jones swapped suits for sports kit and took on the famous Tough Mudder challenge. The event is known for its gruelling combination of obstacles, water, ice and of course lots of mud. For our team, it was a unique way to push ourselves physically and mentally while also raising money for a charity close to our hearts.
Heartbeat is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by congenital heart conditions. It provides life-saving medical equipment, funds vital research and offers emotional and practical support to those facing the challenges of heart disease. The organisation makes a real difference to the lives of children and adults who might otherwise struggle without its help.
At FWJ we are acutely aware of how important this work is. At the start of 2025, one of our much-loved team members suffered a sudden and serious cardiac arrest. Thanks to the incredible care she received and the invaluable support her family were given during such a frightening time, she is now on the road to recovery. It was her and her family’s recommendation that led us to Wessex Heartbeat, who do incredible work supporting cardiac patients and their loved ones.
Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, clients, friends and families, our fundraising effort has already raised £3,365 for a wonderful cause. The donations so far have shown just how much people value the work of Heartbeat. Every contribution, whether £5 or £500, is helping us move smash though our original target.
We have been humbled by the messages of support accompanying the donations. Some donors have shared personal stories of how congenital heart disease has affected their lives. Others have simply wanted to back our team for taking on such a tough challenge. Each message has reminded us why this campaign matters so much.
Although we are proud of the progress to date, we are not finished. The more money we can raise, the more impact Heartbeat can make. Every additional donation allows the charity to extend its reach and help more families in need.
We would love to encourage everyone reading this to consider making a donation.
