I am a solicitor in the Insolvency team at Francis Wilks & Jones. I specialise in contentious insolvency and advise insolvency practitioners, companies, directors and individuals on a wide range of insolvency disputes.
My work includes claims by office-holders, director investigations, transactions at an undervalue, preference claims, misfeasance claims and applications under section 236 of the Insolvency Act 1986. I also advise directors and individuals responding to claims brought by liquidators, trustees in bankruptcy or other office-holders.
I focus on helping clients understand the issues clearly, assess the commercial risks and choose a practical route forward. Insolvency disputes can move quickly and often involve difficult decisions, so I aim to provide advice that is robust, concise and commercially realistic.
I regularly work with clients, counsel and other professionals from the initial investigation stage through to trial preparation. Whether the right approach is pursuing litigation, defending a claim or exploring settlement, I focus on progressing matters efficiently and strategically.
Clients value my analytical approach, attention to detail and clear communication. I aim to be responsive and reliable, keeping clients informed and helping them make confident decisions at each stage of the matter.
I have experience assisting office-holders with claims against directors, including misfeasance claims, transactions at an undervalue and preference claims. I also advise directors responding to claims brought by liquidators and help them understand their options, risks and potential routes to resolution.
In personal insolvency matters, I have assisted trustees in bankruptcy with claims involving alleged transactions at an undervalue, including matters progressing from investigation through to judgment following trial. I also support individuals facing claims from trustees in bankruptcy, where I take a clear, practical and empathetic approach to what can often be a difficult and stressful process.
