Can a director be a sole trader?
Director Disqualification and sole traders / partners
It is possible to be a sole trader or partner despite being subject to a director disqualification order or director disqualification undertaking. The Company Director Disqualification Act 1986 only applies to directors and managers of companies, Limited Liability Partnerships and certain Charities.
Often a change of trading status will require restructuring existing business arrangements and at Francis Wilks & Jones this is something we can assist you with.
