Case Management Conference assistance
A Case Management Conference (or CMC as it is also known) usually takes place 2-3 months after a defence is filed. A CMC is a formal court hearing at which a Judge will assess the claim and then set out the next steps (called “directions) in the litigation up to and including the trial of the claim.
Attendance is often required at these hearings and legal representation is highly recommended. A Judge expects each party to be fully prepared for the CMC and able to deal with all aspects of the claim including the difficult area of document disclosure. Failure to prepare properly can lead to criticism by the judge and steps put in place moving forward which are unhelpful.
At Francis Wilks & Jones we can assist you with Case Management Conference preparation and representation.
