Why the client needed our help

Our client wanted help recovering £4,730 from a debtor.

How we helped

Following the debtor’s failure to respond to a letter before action, we took the next step of issuing and serving a winding up petition on them.

The outcome

Although the petition was served, it soon became clear that the debtor was in financial difficulty and would be unable to pay the debt. The winding up petition was withdrawn and the official receiver deposit recovered for our client. A liquidator was subsequently appointed to investigate the debtor company.

As credit and collection professionals ourselves, we have to be pretty discerning about the lawyers we retain so it speaks volumes that Francis Wilks & Jones have been our retained solicitors for many years now. Thoroughly professional, the firm has a wide knowledge and experience of the legalities of the debt recovery scene. Sound advice is always available and provides crucial support with some of the more difficult decisions that we have to make.
